More than forty volunteers planted native grasses and flowering shrubs in a new rain garden beside the science building.

Designed for heavy weather

The shallow basin will collect runoff from nearby paths and allow water to soak into the ground gradually.

Organizers will monitor the garden through the wet season and replace plants that do not establish.
